Mastering Service
Why should I master a track ?
Mastering the music gets the sound on the maximum impression level. Our aim is to optimize the song of an artist with all our know-how and technology to bring it to the next level.
Moreover it is important that your music sounds compatible and competitive on the market, so that every title sounds good on every soundsystem.
What is Mastering ?
With mastering (also called Premastering) the single frequency bands like subbass, bass, midrange, presence, high within a song are brought to a perfect relation.
An optimum level of Loudness can be reached by tools like multiband compressors, limiters and SPL Maximizers and the subjectively audible volume, the perceived volume, will be raised. Every genre needs his specific dynamics, volume and maximum Attack.
To avoid gaps, e.g., in the bass area, the stereo signal gets analysed and worked on by stereo balance, stereo spread and stereo phase. Since the song is played on the radio or published on vinyl, it should have no gaps or level sinkings.
Mush can be removed by noise reduction, de-clicking, de-cracking and if necessary de-essing.
When editing the start and end of a song will be cut precisely, or it is cut, e.g., from a maxi to a single version (max. 3:40 min).
technical conditions
an optimum basis of the mix-down:
- Data format: uncompressed 16, 24 or 32 bit
- Sample frequency: 44.1, 88 or 96 kHz
- Digital level: between 70% and scarcely less than 100% (without compressors or limiter in the sum)
(44.1 KHz 24 bit is the usual format)
Please do not use equalizers, compressors, limiters, exiters, enhancers or stereobase effects in the sum.
Of course songs that do not fulfill these conditions (e.g., MP3 formats) can also be worked on. MP3 is a data-diminished audioformat so the result will not reach the optimum.
Stem-Mastering
With the stem-mastering single instrument groups or voice tracks can be mastered seperately, as for example this is very common in the Hiphop Industry. By separate treatment of playback and voice the sound engineer has more variability within the mastering and can intervene more specific and more efficiently to achieve a better result. In the club music it can make sense to work on the rhythm instruments or the Bassdrum separately.
Mixdown Service
A good production starts at the mix-down
You can recognise a great mixdown by a warm, wide sound where one can define all components of the song unambiguously!
Thus, e.g., the main voice is worked on in the mix with our special compressors, or the Bassdrum gets by our know-how the right kick, etc.
For the mixdown we need every single track of the title (mono or stereo) potentially without any effects as a WAV or AIFF file.
You are able to upload the data comfortably in the log in area. These are treated of course strictly confidentially.
